beyond是一支来自于中国香港的著名摇滚乐队，也是华人地区的殿堂级乐队之一，成立于1983年，其队名的中文意思为“超越”。乐队属于原创型，其作品以写实为主。乐队曾经有过多次的人事变动，其中以黄家驹、黄家强、黄贯中、叶世荣四人的阵容最广为人知。自从黄家驹于1993年在日本东京意外去世之后，乐队没有再寻找新成员填补。2005年beyond举行了“beyond the story live 2005”世界巡回告别演唱会后，乐队宣布解散。在这22年时光里经历了无数的风风雨雨，并取得了辉煌的成就，他们一路走来始终坚持着自己的信念，胸怀博爱，视野广阔，远远超出了一般乐队所能达到的高度。不论何时，不管我们有多么无助或者坚强，不管我们曾经失败或者成功，总能在他们的歌声中找到最强的共鸣，因为beyond唱出了我们大多数人的青春、理想、爱情与经受的苦难。

1985年7月，beyond乐队因自资举行了首个音乐会而一鸣惊人，一直被香港人形容为地下乐队的beyond正式开展他们职业歌手的征途。1988年，Beyond发行了一张名为《秘密警察》的专辑，里面的一首“大地”获得了年度十大劲歌金曲十大非情歌选举第一名，入选89年度十大中文金曲。

《大地》主要是反映两岸的关系，抒发了Beyond的爱国主义情怀，也表达了他们对祖国大地的热爱。从另一个角度讲，这首歌也含蓄的表达了一定程度的父爱，因为父爱就像大地一样的浑厚，所以歌词中也用到了“这刻在望着父亲笑容时，竟不知不觉的无言”。综上可以看出Beyond是以父爱写大爱，使得这首《大地》的意境升华，而远非表面理解那么简单。在音乐风格上，有点脱离Beyond的一贯摇滚，反而增添了一点清新的中国味.歌词虽然由刘卓辉执笔，但仍旧表达出Beyond对神州大地的情怀。[3]

《真的爱你》它收录在Beyond于1989年发行的粤语专辑《Beyond IV》 内。该作品的词作者为梁美薇，曲作者为黄家驹，演唱者为Beyond。

继《大地》后，Beyond的另一突破，《真的爱你》是1989年第四张大碟的主题歌。歌词道出对母爱的歌颂及母爱的伟大，更寄托了黄家驹在母亲节送给母亲最好的祝福，《真的爱你》中“你”原指的是母亲，后来随着Beyond所关注的层面的变化，这个“你”的含义就越来越广泛。所以演唱《真的爱你》除了表达一种对母亲爱的歌颂以外，还有一种对社会关注的大爱。

《海阔天空》是Beyond音乐生涯中最杰出的作品之一[9]。它唤醒了香港歌坛的主旋律意识，奏响了一种可以引起大众共鸣的音乐[10]。

《海阔天空》具有Pop Rock的所有特征，而且富于斗志，是青春年少澎湃热血在调音台和效果器后被放大的结果。这首歌的影响已不只是在卡拉OK和点歌节目，而在于人们的心间[5]。这首歌曲带给人们的是一种积极向上的生活态度，坚持自己的理想，永远不放弃

1990年，Beyond远赴，亲眼目睹了饱经战争和灾荒的非洲人民的苦难生活。回国后，Beyond的主唱黄家驹在报纸上读到被困狱中的曼德拉的故事，引起了他内心的共鸣。在黄家驹看来，曼德拉的精神内涵是关于抗争与希望，这与Beyond在香港艰辛打拼的背景不谋而合；于是黄家驹就创作了《光辉岁月》这首歌曲。

In response to the war between Vietnam and America, presenter Martin Luther Kingsays that American have no reason to join this war. He effectively builds his argument by using some personal anecdotes and hyperbole word choice. Martin Luther King provides a strong opposite attitude of American’s involvement.

Martin Luther King’s argument convince the audience by using a large amount of personal encounter. Take the example of “my reason moves to an even deeper level of awareness, for it grows out if my experience in the ghettoes of the North over the last three years”. By using this individual experience, he successfully made a connection between the presenter and the audiences about their experiences of going through the war. Moreover, the word like “the ghettoes of the North” and “the last three years” specify his undergoing. It arouses the sympathy of the listener and induce them to think about the feeling they have had of struggling and impressed. This experience enhances the argument that American people should stop having war with Vietnamese.Another example in the passage is “there is at the outset… struggle I, and others, have been waging in America”.

Various of contrasts are also appear in the speech. Take one of them as an example— “And so we have been repeatedly faced… unable to seat them together in the same schools.” The presenter first provides the evidence about how white people and black people are fight together on the battlefield. Probably the listener will predict how the black people were being treated after they went back to the America. Then Martin Luther King uses a radically contradictory information of they cannot sit in the same schools and get the same education together when they were in The US. By using the contrast between the opposite situations, the speaker established an ironic effect on the American government. It induced the audiences to feel unfair and sympathies to the colored citizens. The technique he used strengthen his claim that he is an opponent of the American government’s cruel manipulation to the weak.

Writing as a reaction to his anger of starting the war with Vietnam, Martin Luther King argues that, unaffected darkness. He builds this claim by making use of a personal anecdote, allusions, and rhetorical questioning.

At the age of nineteen, the day after I graduate high school, I do to a place where it snowed and I became a massage therapist. With this job all I needed were my hands and my massage table by my side and I would go anywhere. For the first time in my life, I felt free, independent, and completely in control of my life.

I was absolutely, physically and emotionally broken.

I daydreamed as I did when I was a little girl and I imagined myself walking gracefully, helping other people through my journey and

snowboarding again. And I didn't just see myself carving down a mountain of powder, I could actually feel it. I could feel the wind against my face and the beat of my racing heart as if it were happening in that very moment. And that is when a new chapter in my life began.

Four months later I was back upon a snowboard, although things didn't go quite as expected: my knees and my ankles wouldn't bend and at one point I

traumatized（使受创伤） all the skiers on the aerial lift when I fell and my legs still attached to my snowboard went flying down the mountain and I was on the top of the mountain still.I was so shocked, I was just as shocked as everybody else and I was so discouraged but I knew that if I could find the right pair of feet I would be able to do this again. I did a year of research, still couldn't figure out what kind of legs to use, and couldn’t find any resources that could help me. So I decided to make a pair myself. My leg maker and I put random parts together and we made a pair of feet that I could snowboard in. As you can see, rusty bolts, rubber, wood and neon（霓虹灯）pink duct tape. And yes, I can change my toe nail polish. It was these legs and the best 21st birthday gift I could ever receive- a new kidney from my dad that allowed me to follow my dreams again. I started

snowboarding, then I went back to work, then I went back to school. Then in 2005 I co-founded a non-profit organization for youth and young adults with physical disabilities so they could get involved with action sports. From there, I had the opportunity to go to South Africa where I helped to put shoes on thousands of children's feet so they could attend school. And just this past February, I won 2 back Board World Cup gold medals which made me the highest ranked adaptive female snowboard in the world.

But if you ask me today, if I would ever wanna change my situation, I would have to say No because my legs haven't disabled me, if anything they've enabled me, they forced me to relay on my imagination and to believe in possibilities and that's why I believe that our imaginations can be used as tools for breaking through

borders because in our minds, we can do anything and we can be anything. It's believing in those dreams and facing our fear head on that allows us to live our lives beyond our limits.

So the thought that I'd like to challenge you with today is that maybe instead of looking at our challenges and our limitations as something negative or bad we can begin to look at them as blessings(祝福，恩惠), magnificent（高尚的，华丽的） gifts that can be used to ignite（点燃，点亮）our imaginations and help us go further than we ever knew we could go. Thank you. Thank you very much, everyone. Sorry to keep you waiting. Complicated business, complicated. Thank you very much.

I've just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us. It’s about us. On our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign.

I mean she fought very hard. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.

I mean that very sincerely. Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of pision, have to get together, to all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.

It is time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all of Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country. As I've said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement, made up of millions of hard-working men and women who love their country and want a better, brighter future for themselves and for their family.

It is a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will.

Working together we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream. I've spent my entire life in business, looking at the untapped potential in projects and in people all over the world.

That is now what I want to do for our country. Tremendous potential. I've gotten to know our country so well. Tremendous potential. It is going to be a beautiful thing. Every single American will have the opportunity to realize his or her fullest potential. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

We are going to fix our inner cities and rebuild our highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, schools, hospitals. We're going to rebuild our infrastructure, which will become, by the way, second to none, and we will put millions of our people to work as we rebuild it. We will also finally take care of our great veterans who have been so loyal, and I've gotten to know so many over this 18-month journey.

The time I've spent with them during this campaign has been among my greatest honors.

Our veterans are incredible people. We will embark upon a project of national growth and renewal. I will harness the creative talents of our people and we will call upon the best and brightest to leverage their tremendous talent for the benefit of all. It is going to happen. We have a great economic plan. We will double our growth and have the strongest economy anywhere in the world. At the same time we will get along with all other nations, willing to get along with us. We will be. We will have great relationships. We expect to have great, great relationships. No dream is too big, no challenge is too great. Nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach. America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our country's destiny and dream big and bold and daring. We have to do that. We're going to dream of things for our country, and beautiful things and successful things once again.

I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America's interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone, with everyone.

All people and all other nations. We will seek common ground, not hostility, partnership, not conflict. And now I would like to take this moment to thank some of the people who really helped me with this, what they are calling tonight a very, very historic victory.

First I want to thank my parents, who I know are looking down on me right now. Great people. I've learned so much from them. They were wonderful in every regard. I are truly great parents. I also want to thank my sisters, Marianne and Elizabeth who are here with us tonight. Where are they? They're here someplace. They're very shy actually.

And my brother Robert, my great friend. Where is Robert? Where is Robert?

My brother Robert, and they should be on this stage but that's okay. They're great.

I want to give a very special thanks to our former mayor, Rudy Giuliani. He's unbelievable. Unbelievable. He traveled with us and he went through meetings, and Rudy never changes. Where is Rudy. Where is he?

Gov. Chris Christie, folks, was unbelievable. Thank you, Chris. The first man, first senator, first major, major politician — let me tell you, he is highly respected in Washington because he is as smart as you get, senator Jeff sessions. Where is Jeff? A great man. Another great man, very tough competitor. He was not easy. He was not easy. Who is that? Is that the mayor that showed up? Is that Rudy?

Up here. Really a friend to me, but I'll tell you, I got to know him as a competitor because he was one of the folks that was negotiating to go against those Democrats, Dr. Ben Carson. Where's been? Where is Ben? By the way, Mike Huckabee is here someplace, and he is fantastic. Mike and his familiar bring Sarah, thank you very much. Gen. Mike Flynn. Where is Mike? And Gen. Kellogg. We have over 200 generals and admirals that have endorsed our campaign and there are special people. We have 22 congressional medal of honor people. A very special person who, believe me, I read reports that I wasn't getting along with him. I never had a bad second with him. He's an unbelievable star. He is -- that's right, how did you possibly guess? Let me tell you about Reince. I've said Reince. I know it. I know it. Look at all of those people over there. I know it, Reince is a superstar. I said, they can't call you a superstar, Reince, unless we win it. Like secretariat. He would not have that bust at the track at Belmont.

Reince is really a star and he is the hardest working guy and in a certain way I did this. Reince, come up here. Get over here, Reince.

Boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. It's about time you did this right. My god. Nah, come here. Say something. Amazing guy. Our partnership with the RNC was so important to the success and what we've done, so I also have to say, I've gotten to know some incredible people.

The Secret Service people. They're tough and they're smart and they're sharp and I don't want to mess around with them, I can tell ya. And when I want to go and wave to a big group of people and they rip me down and put me back down in the seat, but they are fantastic people so I want to thank the Secret Service.

And law enforcement in New York City, they're here tonight. These are spectacular people, sometimes underappreciated unfortunately, we we appreciate them. So it's been what they call an historic event, but to be really historic, we have to do a great job and I promise you that I will not let you down. We will do a great job. We will do a great job. I look very much forward to being your president and hopefully at the end of two years or three years or four years or maybe even eight years you will say so many of you worked so hard for us, with you you will say that — you will say that that was something that you were — really were very proud to do and I can — thank you very much.

And I can only say that while the campaign is over, our work on this movement is now really just beginning. We're going to get to work immediately for the American people and we're going to be doing a job that hopefully you will be so proud of your president. You will be so proud. Again, it's my honor.

What I dread about the future？

When the final sunset comes, will I be able to walk away knowing I had completely enjoyed the days of my life? I often find myself thinking and reflecting. However, at the end of it all, I realize that my fear about the future is not having a future.

I'm worried that in the blink of an eye my life would end. I would not have experienced everything life has to offer or accomplished all my goals. My life would be lived without ever having a purpose. I need to live a life with a purpose, the purpose of improving and impacting others' lives. I don't want to close my eyes, with the millions of things in my life left undone, not experienced, not achieved, running endlessly until my last breath is a painful regret.。

I have not yet brought joy to my parents. The many expectations they have for me have not been met. I want to make them proud; the love they have given me is beyond words. To bring happiness to them by fulfilling the expectations they have for me, will be the first step in living a fulfilled life.

I have not yet become the role model I want to be for my younger siblings. I want to be the person they look up to, the person that they turn to for guidance. However, I have not yet been through enough of life's hardships to be wise enough to give them the advice they need. I love the innocence in their smiles, but I also know with time that will fade. I want to be the person who protects them and the one who shows them the right way when they're lost in peer pressure or their own depression.

I have not yet experienced true friendship. Life has given me many friends, but it seemed with time, people changed and so did the relationships. Friends, it seems, come and go. I value friendship, but so far in life, distance or another factor always comes in the way of maintaining a friendship.

I have not yet had my heart broken. I want to live life until I am able to be in love. I want to be able to trust a girl enough to give her my heart, and yet not be afraid to get it broken. I want to feel the warmth of being in love and the sorrows of having my heart broken. I fear my future will never come, my life ending unfinished. I am not ready for my final sunset. I want to continue my days in the sun, to experience the happiness of the sunshine and the pain of the sunburn. My life is not ready to end; it is barely beginning. I have just started to learn the meaning of life, my wants and needs, my goals and dreams. I want to be able to live long enough to live a fulfilled life, a life that will be remembered, a life that made an impact. As of now, I am enjoying the sunrise, hoping the sunset will come when I will be able to walk away knowing I completely enjoyed the days of my life.
