演讲:education in china
In China, the education is divided into three categories: basic education, higher education, and adult education.
Education as an important part of social life, with the development and changes of entire social, political, economic and cultural, have taken place profound changes.
Education has made important contributions to the prosperity of the
country and the nation.
The first achievement is the establishment of a new socialist education system. It makes the vast majority of the populations and their children have the right to education.
The second achievement, education bring up a large number of talents for the development of economic and society and it provides a strong support for the state reform and opening up.
60 years, although China's education has made great achievements, but there are still many problems.
Here I want to talk about the problems about Chinese education system and I list three problems.
1. The way to select talent person
2. Unfair policy
3. The education in rural area
As we all know, now the only way to select talented person in China is examination. That is to say, we test a person’s level by mark. So the students study hard and they just want to get a good mark, but they are weak in practice, the score is high but the ability is very poor. So I think such an approach is not very scientific. First, the knowledge in the exam only covers a small part of the book. Some people may know it by accident, while other people may not know it .Second , there are many causal factors existed in the processing of examination, for example, what if someone feel sick in that day?
Unfair policy is a very important issue. We all know that national policy is quite loose for Beijing. The educational level of Beijing is nearly the lowest in our country, but their chance to enter college is much larger than any other cities in our country. On this issue, government can not make a lawful and reasonable explanation to us. Why can’t we get a fair policy in the same country?
Here is an example of my own experience.
Now I have a part-time job as tutor. The kid I taught is now the fourth grade in junior high school. This year he will participate in the Mid-Term Examination.
He wants go to senior high school in Tianjin city. One day I ask him why he wants to go to Tianjin. His mother tells me that: if he can make it, he can have an extra 100 score when he participates in the university entrance examination. It is meaning that he can go to a famous university easily. I
remembered when I am in the senior high school; if I win the first prize in the National Olympiad I can have a 30 score award. But you know that it is very difficult for anyone to win the prize. So if you can win the prize, you must pay a lot of effort. So if you are given the 30 score, no one will say anything. But now it is not the problem of effort but money. It is very easy to go to senior high school in Tianjin, but if you want to enjoy the benefits of extra points, you must meet the following conditions:
First, you must have an apartment in Tianjin.
Second, you must have accounts in Tianjin for more than three years. Third, guardian must be taxed for more than five years.
I now believe that you will know why I say it is not the problem of effort but money. If your parents have lot of money, you can have a good choice.
Furthermore, we should take more care of education in rural area. Rural education is the focus of education reform and development in
China. Since the rural population accounts for the vast majority of the country's population, while very few people has accepted advanced education. Thus they are short-sighted. Therefore, we need to vigorously develop rural education. In my opinion this is an important goal in our educational development.
But China's education still has its advantage. Such as, through China's education, students will get a solid foundation. This would be benefit for us to learn other more advanced things later.
I want to give some advises. Of course they are only my hope.
Regardless of where somebody participates in the university entrance examination, all of them should be trade fairly. Our government should provide a fair environment for they can compete impartially. There is a far cry between rural schools and city’s in hardware facilities and quality of teachers.
Authorities can introduce relevant policies to encourage graduates to teaching in rural areas. Also we can employ some excellent retirement teachers, but we have a necessary premise: our government must increase investment in rural education.
The above is my opinion on Chin’s education. I believe that China’s education is not pretty satisfactory and I hope that one day our education system will improved greatly.
College education
Treat college education as basic education
As we all know, if we go back to 20 years ago, college graduates are the elites of society. Only students who performed excellent and gained high sores can get into the university, and after they graduating from university, almost all of them will have a bright future. However,
nowadays, with the expansion of college enrollment, more and more young people are graduating from university. As a result, compared with a dozen years ago, the college
graduates do not have significant competitive advantages any more. It has drawn lots attention that amount of college graduates cannot find jobs. The fact shows that college education isn't the elite education, but something like general education. So, in my opinion, we should change our thinking and treat it as basic education to adapt to the society.
There is a gap between high school education and college education in china. In high school, all of us are fighting for the college entrance examination, so we don't know lots of the college majors. Most of us choose our major following the advice of our teachers, parents even the internet comments. I think it is really a terrible way to choose our future. Actually, our
knowledge store cannot afford us learn some specific majors well. When I am talking about the basic education, I mean, in this period, students should set a general sense of major they choose. To be more specific, only set some primary majors in college, such as mathematics, physics, and literature and so on. At the same time, set specific subjects which regard these primary majors as subjects’ basis. For example, if a student chose mathematics as his major in college, we should set some courses like economics, finance, statistics or information
technology to help him learn about these subjects. In this way, students can lay a foundation in their college and also have a common sense of specific subject. After graduate from college, at the postgraduate period, they can learn further about the specific subject they interested in.
This is a kind of revolution of college education. In the past, most of us think college is an "end" of our education, so we should learn some working skills in this period. However, with the development of our society, college tends to be a process of learning. College graduates cannot fit the demand of the society. And if we want to win the competition with others, we should set a good foundation and learn more in the postgraduate stage. I believe this kind of postgraduates will still be elites of the society. So, treat college education as a basic education may be a good way to solve the college education problems.
Education
Hello everyone. Today I will talk about education. Children's education. Everyone has experienced during childhood or become parents. so today you will feeling of my word perhaps. I will more want to talk about Chinese children’s education. This is only my private opinion.
Children under Chinese education is pitiable. They are living in a spoiled world .Most of parents allow their children to do everything they want to do whether it's accurate or not ,or buy children whatever they desire. Even children do the wrong thing there is no education.
For example: some parents condone children in urine anywhere. Parents should tell their children where the toilet, rather than the children do the way they like. As I have seen parents allow their children to pass water on the floor at home .Parents just do services instead of giving correct guidance to children.
I wonder that under such education, whether the parents think about how children will be like in the future. Although parents offer children the best living conditions and material base, but they don`t foster children how to think independently, or do correct judgment. I really want to know do these parents also got such education when they were young.
We often see some youth made foolish or illegal activities in the media. I believe that they were not born with these activities. Of course ,there are social reasons ,but more or main impact is the bad education from parents.
In Chinese families, I have seen a lot of this phenomenon, when a child who just fell down on the ground, just stand instability, and without any injuries ,the whole people of family put down everything, rushed to the baby and hold baby up ,and ask baby ached or not, or rub legs and arms, or give toys to make baby happy. I would like to know, if you fell down then get such a good treatment, will you climb up? Why the creativity, independence of children is so bad? Perhaps the reason is, children can get whatever they want, parents will instead of children to do all things.
I love my country, I hope next generation will be better. I also believe all the parents love their children. However the responsibility of parents is not just love their children, I think the most important things are education and guidance. Family education is very important to decide
what kind of person will children be in the future .I want to say to parents, please think about what you have done to children today, decide how they will be in the future? Do you want to ruin his/her life ?
There is a movie gave me emotionally, called "The Road", which I thought of my father, and also thought of my children in future. I hope I can be like the boy in the movie, when his father left he became a strong man .I also want to be like the father in "The Road", can telling to my kids "keep the fire, the fire inside you".
Media Education
Media Education
What is media literacy?
Media literacy deals with the culture and lifestyle of students. They enjoy thinking and talking about what is going on in the media. For teachers, it is an opportunity to have students examine how they are influencing and being influenced by popular culture. -Atlantic Curriculum
The terms 'media literacy' and 'media education' are used synonymously in most English-speaking nations. Many scholars and educators consider media literacy to be an expanded conceptualization of literacy. In 1993, a gathering of the media literacy community in the United States developed a definition of media literacy as the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and create messages in a wide variety of forms.
It is about developing people's critical and creative abilities when it comes to mass media, popular culture and digital media. Media education is the process and media literacy is the outcome, but neither term should be confused with educational technology or with educational media. When people understand media and technology, they are able to access, analyze, evaluate, and create messages in a wide variety of media, genres, and forms.
History of Media Literacy
Media literacy education is arisen from a legacy of media and technology use in education throughout the 20th century and the emergence of cross-disciplinary work at the intersections of scholarly work in media studies and education. Voices of Media Literacy, a project of the Center for Media Literacy representing first-person interviews with media literacy pioneers active prior to 1990 in English-speaking countries, provides historical context for the rise of the media literacy field. UNESCO has played an important role in supporting media and information literacy by encouraging the development of national information and media literacy policies, including in education. UNESCO has developed training resources to help teachers integrate information and media literacy into their teaching and provide them with appropriate pedagogical methods and curricula.
Features of Media Literacy Education
New types of “texts”{education
Media literacy can be seen as contributing to an expanded conceptualization of literacy, treating mass media, popular culture and digital media as new types of 'texts' that require analysis and evaluation. By transforming the process of media consumption into an active and critical process, people gain greater awareness of the potential for misrepresentation and manipulation (especially through commercials and public relations techniques), and understand the role of mass media and participatory media in constructing views of reality.{education演讲稿}.
The role of teacher
In those traditional classes, teachers are considered the center of attention, providing the information and knowledge in a direct and dull way. However in media education,
since the classes are based on inquiry-based pedagogic model, the main task for teachers is to facilitate the process of inquiry and dialogue.
Inquiry-based Pedagogic Model
Education for media literacy often uses an inquiry-based pedagogic model that encourages people to ask questions about what they watch, hear, and read. Media education isn’t about having the right answers: rather, it’s about asking the right questions. Because media issues are complex and often contradictory and controversial, the educator’s role isn’t to impart knowledge, but to facilitate the process of inquiry and dialogue.{education演讲稿}.
Media literacy education provides tools to help people critically analyze messages, offers opportunities for learners to broaden their experience of media, and helps them develop creative skills in making their own media messages. Critical analysis can include identifying author, purpose and point of view, examining construction techniques and genres, examining patterns of media representation, and detecting propaganda, censorship, and bias in news and public affairs programming (and the reasons for these). Media literacy education may explore how structural features—such as media ownership, or its funding model—affect the information presented.
Application of Media Literacy
Jeff Share (2002) has categorized the different approaches to media education to fit into 4 different areas. These are the protectionist approach, media arts education, media literacy movement, and critical media literacy (of which he is an advocate). The protectionist approach views audiences of mass media as dupes of the media, vulnerable to cultural, ideological or moral influences, and needing protection by education.
The media arts education approach focuses on creative production of different media forms by learners.
The media literacy movement is an attempt to bring traditional aspects of literacy from the educational sphere and apply it to media.
And the critical media literacy is about to encourage critically analyze relationships between media and audiences, information, and power.

The Distinctions of Education Between China and America
Good morning, dear teacher and classmates.Today,we are going to talk something about the distinctions of education between China and America.{education
There are several differences between China and America in education. We think the most important difference is the aim of education.China's education is to make students master fundamental knowledge. While in America, education is to cultivate students' innovation ability. The difference of education aims leads to the distinctions in many other aspects. We will elaborate these differences from the following perspectives.
First, the education philosophy is different. In China,we mainly learn the arranged courses to grasp the fundamental knowledge. This makes Chinese students learning very passive.Differently, students in America will select the courses that they are interested in.So they can study actively.
Second, the class-room behavior of Chinese students is distinct from that of American students.A good-behaved Chinese student should sit straightly, listen quietly and take notes quickly. While a American students may talk freely, think lively and discuss enthusiastically in class. And most Chinese students do not ask questions even though they do not understand, They believe that sitting upright is the respect for teachers. But American students may ask questions actively no matter how clever they are, They usually sit in disorder so that they can communicate with their teachers more conveniently. In a word,American students are more active than Chinese students in class.
Third, the emphasis of education is different. We put emphasis on the storage of knowledge while American pay attention to the students’ practical ability. So,when we are sitting in the classroom and listening to teachers,American students maybe doing experiments.
What’s more,The attitude towards examination scores of China is quite different from that of America.Chinese take exam result very important,we usually measure students by there exam scores and Chinese students have to pass all kinds of exams before they graduate. These leads we Chinese students bury ourselves in textbooks and workbooks for higher exam scores and to pass the university entrance exam.
Differently from us,in America ,the school reports are regarded as‘privacy’. Teachers can only give parents their own children’s grades, and the whole class results will not be published. They measure students not only by there study results but also by there comprehensive quality.Briefly,China implements exam-oriented education while America quality education.
Last but not the least, the after-school life is quite different between China and America.Chinese students have to do a lot of homework to consolidate their knowledge. This takes most of their spare time so they can hardly have time to do things they are interested in.But American students have more spare time than us,they also have a lot of free time after doing homework. So they can take all kinds of
activities to enrich their after-school life.
All in all, there are many differences between China’s education and American’s education Education is the soul of a nation.Education system should be based on its own cultural tradition. We can’t tell which education system is better .Every coin has two sides ,each education system has its strong points and weak points s . We should reject the dross and absorb the cream of them to advance the educational
modernization.
Why Education is Essential
Why Education is Essential
honorable judges, dear friends:
do you know a'ba? do you know jiu zhai? a'ba is very famous for jiu zhai and huang long. i'm suo yangjin, a tibet girl from markang a'ba tibet and qiang autonomous prefectur. welcome to markang my hometown!
it's a great honour to make a talk here; my topic is "why education is essential?"
there is a nation in the world. after the second world war, the government paid its great attention to the education. so, the
national economy has developed a lot. in a short time, its science and technology, culture and education have been ahead of the other countries in the world. which country is it? do you know? right, it's japan. as we know, while japan was invading the other countries, it greatly suffered from the war itself in the second world war. but, japan did not sink as people thought; it quickly went out of the difficulties caused by the war. why did japan develop so quickly? what's the secret? right, that's education. so, we say, education is really important to a nation.
now, i'll tell you a real story. once, there was a married couple, they were pleased to have a son. but unfortunately, the child was retarded. while he was growing up gradually, the defect was more and more clear. but the couple did not lose heart, they decided to teach the child to play the piano. they believed" where there is a will, there is a way." day after day, year after year, after more than ten years, the child could play some well-known melodies fluently. per-haps, some one will say, " can he really play the piano? i can't
believe that." then, let me tell you another story about fang zhongyong. in ancient china, there was a boy named
fang zhongyong, who never read any books. one day, he suddenly asked his father for books. his father was very surprised and
borrowed some from the neighbours.after reading, zhongyong writed a poem about respecting parents and getting on well with the neighbours and so on. from then on, as soon as he saw something, he could write a poem about it. the people in his village were all surprised. gradually, he was well-known and often invited to write some poems for money. his father thought that's very profitable, so he took zhongyong here and there to earn money and zhong yong didn't go on with his study. as we all know, at last, zhongyong became as simple as the others. he couldn't write poems any more.we have to admire the couple for their will, confi-dence and courage, while we also feel sorry for zhongyong. at this time, there is a problem: for a person, which is more important, gift or training? training, i think, is more important. and as one of the most important courses in training, ed-ucation cannot be neglected.
the purpose of education is to make people get knowledge and have abilities. as we know, nowadays, our time is a knowledge time, an it time, and it is also a time that is full of competitions. in the rapid developing society, our knowl-edge, our character, our value, our ideas, our behaviour and so on should all fit in with the needs of the society. and all these depend on education. of course it's impossible to fit ourselves on the society from birth. we need to learn and practise step by step.
