Hello everyone,

I'm a student from Digital Media Class 4, Grade 14. My name is Li Guiyuan.The content of my speech is a story about me and my hometown.

I come from a small village in Hubei Province. Although it is very poor, it has a unique local conditions and customs. I love my hometown, love the mountain, water, love the people here more.

There is a reservoir in our village, named Xu Jiahe reservoir. It is the third largest reservoir in Hubei. There are 108 islands. I like them. I spend Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter just here.When I was a kid, I always went fishing on the river with my father. Everytime we would have a good harvest. The flowers are all over the mountains and plains along the way. Sometimes I couldn’t help picking some flowers.Summer is very hot so when it comes, of course,we couldn’t wait for swimming in the river. When I was a child, it was my cousin who taught me to swim. Since then every summer I have been swimming in the river with my friends up till now.

Shou mountain in my hometown is the highest mountain. Trees on the mountain are flourishing every year. There are a lot of wild plants, too. The scenery in four seasons is very beautiful:

red maple, golden ginkgo, brown phoenix tree and green pine tree. It’s very colorful. In winter after the lake has iced up,everything seems so quiet.

Then let’s talk about myself. My elder sister and I are twins. Everyone says we are quite similar. When I was a child, my sister and I went to school together and always sat at the same table. Every time we would spent an hour walking on the mountain road for home.Until one day, she dropped out from school. She said“Our family is poor, parents can’t afford our tuition, so just let brother go on his school work. I've made up my mind and want to look for a job in Wuhan.”I didn’t know if it was her honest opinion, and just knew she left school. After we’ve grown up, our parents’ health has been becoming worse. Because my family condition was poor, I suffered a lot as a child with my sister. So when I was in elementary school, I can cook and wash clothes. I'm quite independent.

Now I come into college. I am very grateful to my sister. She has been supporting and encouraging me quietly and continuously. I'll try my best, I believe in myself!

Good morning! I’m Longxue Song, a student from Lixian Primary School. I am very glad to stand here and give you a short speech .Today my topic is “Love our hometown, Bijie.” I hope you can like.

See me, you maybe say: “Oh, you are a short boy!” Yes, because I am only fifteen years old. At this moment, I only want to tell you: I love my hometown very much.

My hometown located in the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. It’s the started place of the West Development. In ancient times, it’s famous for its Yelang civilization and Shuixi culture. Since carry out the policy of the West Development, Our hometown has made a great development, especially in the field of industry and tourism.

There are many nice places here .They are “Baili Dujuan”, it’s a sea of flowers when they are blooming in the Spring. “Zhijing Dong”, it is regarded as "Karst Museum" by the Travelers around the world. “Caohai” that has a reputation of “the Pearl of the Plateau”. They all attract large number of travelers from home and abroad every year.

As a student, what should I do?

From the time I can understand something, my Chinese teacher always told us: Young Pioneers should protect the environment, and love our hometown. From that time on, I often tried to do something that is valuable to the environment in the school or out of the school. For example: I have never run on the grassland. I have never picked the flowers or even have never thrown the small papers everywhere.

In recent years, people always destroy the environment. They do not protect the environment. So the air is not clean as before. Lots of people have been ill.

How to make our hometown more beautiful, I do not know anything more. But I believe that if everyone shares a little piece of their love with each other, the world will become a wonderful paradise. So I believe you. I believe you must do it. You can do it. You will do it. And you will succeed.

My Hometown

The Beautiful Suqian

Good afternoon，ladies and gentlemen。Today，I will introduce my hometown to you。Suqian ，a beautiful and historical city.

Suqian is located in the north of Jiangsu Province, boarding Lianyungang, which is one of the 8 largest ports in China, to the east, Xuzhou。 Covering a land of 8555 square kilometers, Suqian has a population of 5 million. The city enjoys popularity for it is the hometown of the Great Conqueror Xiang yu of West Chu Period in China.

Suqian bears a long history. Archeologist discovered the Xiacaowan Cultural Ruin that human inhabited fifty thousand years ago, and towns of Suqian began to be built in this region nearly 2,300 years ago. One of the emperors of Tang Dynasty (618-907) changed its name from Suyu County to Suqian County in 405.

Next is Suqian’s delicious Food. Taking the Xuhai style in Su cuisine as the main body, the cuisine in Suqian pays much attention to the taste of salt ， fresh and expertise in marine lives.

Local delicacies include “Farewell My Concubine”, which stews chicken with turtles, Qianlong Braised Dog Meat with Bath Chap in Heavy Soup, Spiced Turnip, and Qianlong Tribute Crisp.

Major Suqian Tourism Resources: Suqian has abundant traveling resources and many scenery zones and it was praised by Qianlong

Emperor in Qing Dynasty highly.

Now I want to show you some famous tourist attractions. Suqian has a lot of tourism resources, among which the major attractions are Former Residence of Conqueror Xiangyu, Qianlong’s Palace, and Sanzhuang Grave in Han Dynasty, Hongze Lake, Luoma Lake and Hongze Lake Wetland Natural Protection Zone.

Climatic Features: Enjoying a warm temperate monsoon climate, the city has superior light and heat resources. It has clear four seasons and adequate rainfall, with an annual average temperature of 14.2C (58F). Generally, the temperature during a year may range from -8C (17.6F) to 36.5C (97.7F).
