My dream
My Dream
Good morning, everybody. I’m glad to stand here and give you a short speech. I want to share my dream with you.
Everyone needs to have a dream, with a dream, they will be more active. With a dream, they have the power to work hard and overcome all kinds of difficulties.
I have my dream, too. I am only a boy now , so I am not so greedy. My little dream comes from my mother. She is an English teacher. Every day,She teaches English passages in the textbooks, listens to English from the tape recorder and see beautiful foreign scenery only in the pictures. My mother often says if only she could go abroad to England or America, to be sounded by the language she loves so much, to use the language practically. I love English, too. So I have the same dream with my mom. I dream of traveling to England or to America ,even around the world. Speak out English loudly and helpfully. When I come back , I can tell my mum and all my friends, learning English is really interesting and useful. That’s all. This is my little and simple dream. I believe it will come true one day. And I must work hard for it now.
Thank you for listening.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, today I’m going to talk about discover yourself. Ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, perpetual scientific discoveries of nature had accompanied mankind all along the journey. It was by discovering the world around us that human beings have been able to lead a more sophisticated life. However, as G. K. Chesterton once said, one may understand the cosmos, but never the ego. The self is more distant than any star. Thus, our life is a journey of unrelenting efforts to discover more of ourselves. When I was six, I constantly pictured myself as an elegant skilled pianist, rendering Chopin’s nocturne beautifully on the stage, receiving warm applause after my performance. However, as I furthered my piano lessons, it was hard to be oblivious of my ungifted skills. Sometimes I couldn’t help but have this feeling of despair when I woke up to the reality and discovered that my goal was unrealistic. Brutal but real, it was the first time I had discovered that I couldn’t have it at all. When I was twelve, I thought the coolest job in the entire universe was to be a surgeon. I spent hours and hours watching the drama Grey’s Anatomy and couldn’t help falling in love with the kind of life those doctors lead on the screen. I was utterly mesmerized by the scalpel and all those fancy medical terms they use. However, I stopped dreaming about being a surgeon when I discovered that it was the idea of being a surgeon that appealed to me, not what it truly was. As a result, the dream ended, and I discovered some more about myself. This year I turned sixteen, and I could proudly say I do not dream to be, but ascertain to pursue being a lawyer in the future. Since junior high school, I had always been awarded the most eloquent debater in every single debate I participated in. I can not only think logically, but also deliver my thoughts properly. My huge interest in philosophy also adds to my reasoning whenever I try to argue on something equivocal. Being aware of the obstacles and hardships on the way to becoming a great lawyer never panics me, for the simple reason that I have this faith and passion in what I am aspiring after. G. K. Chesterton was absolutely correct. The most complicated part of comprehending the world is the study of the somehow smaller world—ourselves. I’ve subsequently realized that growing up is the process of discovering ourselves. We get to know what we truly are and become who we dream to be. As we shape ourselves and as we shape our lives, we gradually become more aware of our limits and potentials and consequently learn to adjust to what’s out there. And by that, ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to say that I have discovered part of myself. … discover today, and definitely a lot more in the future. I’ll always keep this embedded in my heart. Things do not change, we do. And that’s all, thank you.

good morning, judges, teachers and follow students. today i would like to share with
you my great wish. but first, please allow me to take you back in time to the year
1955, the setting, montgomery?ntg?m?ri , alabamhe united states of america. it
started out as an ordinary december afternoon. 42 year-old african american rosa parks
boardeb?:did] a bus and sat down in the front row. she thought over, the days and
friends, her child at home, and how she enjoyed her simple life. she was content,
but when she thought about the prejudice and discrimination that she had to face
everyday, she felt a mends pain. how she wished to live in the world of true harmony
“ehen, ehen(咳嗽声)”, rosa was startle to see a white man standing beside her. he
was starring at her coldly, but she managed to smile and ask politely “may i help you sir?” “get out of the seat!” the man snarled back. “excuse me?” rosa was shocked. what right did the man have to speak to her in such a cruel tone? just because
her skin was dark colored and his was fair. and as equals, he certainly didnt have
any right to order her out of the seat, or did he? well, surprisingly, in 1955, lots
like rosa parks did not have as many rights as whites. due to racial discrimination,
rosa’s refusal to give up her seat to a white man, led to a call to the police,
and she was arrested jailed and convictea violatinsegregatiolaws. but rosa did not surrender to prejudice,
instead she chose to fight discrimination and work alongside thousands of others for
her wish to rid the world of racism let us not judge others by their skin color or appearance:[?pir?ns], but rather
by their content of their characte let us learn to enjoy different cultures and then
we’ll enjoy a world of diversity. i wish to look around on a lonely day, and see
a blending of colors. harmony, traveling among people of all skin colors.

New
Crossing the Sea
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. The title of our speech today is "Crossing the Sea".
An English poet by the name of Rudyard Kipling once wrote in his poem "We and They":
"All the people like us are We{中学生英语演讲比赛演讲稿}.
And everyone else is They
We live over the sea
While They live over the way
We eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives
They who gobble their rice off a leaf
Are horrified out of their lives."
When these lines first caught my eyes, I was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? Today's society, of course, is an entirely different picture. Those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.
Indeed, just take China as an example: Our modern life has been influenced by Western style of living in so many ways that it's no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at McDonald's and even rather elderly people dressed
in Apple Jeans.
However, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today. What is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nation's mentality. Just look around.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before. We live in a particular era when countries, East and West, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values. We live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happiness of the whole human race. To cope with such an era and to embrace an even brighter future, we need to learn to live more harmoniously in a world community which is becoming smaller and smaller.
My dear teachers! Our command of the English language renders it possible for us to gain an insight into Western culture while retaining our own cultural identity.
Therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world.
It is my happiest dream that the new generation of Chinese will not only grow up drinking Coca-Cola and watching Hollywood, but also be
blessed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures; benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.
To end my speech, I would like to quote Rudyard Kipling again:
"All the people like us are We
And everyone else is They
But once you cross over the sea
You will end by looking on We
As only a sort of They" Thank you.

女士们,先生们,我们恰逢一个伟大的时代:全球经济一体化、信息革命使得世界各种文化联系比以往更加紧密;
