Extreme sports such as sky diving and skiing are very dangerous and should be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view? In recent years, extreme sports have become increasingly popular, and some people argue that governments should prohibit them. I completely disagree with the idea that these sports are too dangerous, and I therefore believe that they should not be banned.

In my opinion, so-called extreme sports are not as dangerous as many people think. All sports involve some element of risk, and there should always be clear regulations and safety procedures to reduce the possibility of accidents. People who take part in extreme sports are usually required to undergo appropriate training so that the dangers are minimised. For example, anyone who wants to try skydiving will need to sign up for lessons with a registered club, and beginners are not allowed to dive solo; they must be accompanied by an experienced professional.

Finally, the protective equipment and technology used in sports from motor racing to mountain climbing is constantly improving safety.

While I support regulations and safety measures, I believe that it would be wrong, and almost impossible, to ban extreme sports. In the first place, we should all be free to decide how we spend our leisure time; as long as we understand the risks, I do not believe that politicians should stop us from enjoying ourselves. However, an even stronger argument against such a ban would be the difficulty of enforcing it. Many of the most risky sports, like base jumping or big wave surfing, are practised far away from the reach of any

authorities. I cannot imagine the police being called to stop people from parachuting off a mountain face or surfing on an isolated beach. In conclusion, I would argue that people should be free to enjoy extreme sports as long as they understand the risks and take the appropriate precautions.

纵观大部分野生动物伤人事件，都是游客不遵守园区规定，擅自行动造成的。老虎吃人，世人皆知，为何会出现“明知山有虎，偏向虎山行”的状况呢?“任性”而为，充分暴露了公民素质问题。签订协议书，警示和广播，但在有些人眼中视同儿戏，不以为然。无视和蔑视规则，终酿恶果。平心而论，无论制定规则还是提供保护预防措施，动物园方面已经做得相对完善。对比之下，那位大摇大摆下车的女游客，则毫无疑问触犯规则。即使原意为此自负其责，那母亲的生命谁来负责?不守规则的代价，残忍又惨痛，藐视规则猛于虎。

从事件本身讲，动物园允许私家车进入猛兽区，园区的一些列做法似乎到位了，实则却成了园方单方规避了自己安全责任的借口。但绝不能成为推卸责任的借口。即便园方作了保护，可能会误导工作人员，认为出现意外与园区没关系，从而疏于管理。作为管理方，动物园应对潜在的危险应充分考量并严防死守，因为伤不起，人命关天。除了履行各种义务外，还须做好设置防护隔离，保持安全距离等其它义务，单靠救险车也是杯水车薪。我不禁要问，允许私家车游园有无专业人员陪护?能否借鉴非洲野生动物保护区的做法，专门的车辆，专门的保护，完全可以避免悲剧发生，岂能一纸协议了事?

[时间] The Dragon Boat Festival, a traditional Chinese festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. It dates from over 2000 years ago, which falls on June 6th this year. [方式] On this day, Chinese people prepare Zongzi — glutinous(粘黏的) rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. As the festival name shows, people have dragon boat races to celebrate it, especially in the southern places where there are many rivers and lakes. [意义] The Dragon Boat Festival is in memory of Qu Yuan, a great poet of ancient China.
